Xiaomi’s flagship Poco F1 is launching in India on August 22. The company has officially confirmed the launch on Twitter, where it says the ‘Poco F1 – Master of Speed’ in New Delhi India on August 22, 2018.
Ever since Xiaomi confirmed ‘Poco’, there’s been a lot of buzz around this flagship device. The smartphone has been up in leaks as the Pocophone F1. The company already confirmed the phone will be powered by Snapdragon SoC, and there have been leaks of it including the current flagship processor Snapdragon 845.
Recently, there was an unboxing video of the alleged Pocophone F1 in news. The video suggested Pocophone F1/ Poco F1 to carry a 5.99-inch notch display with 19:9 aspect ratio. Other than that it suggested to pack Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 SoC with support for liquid cooling, 6GB RAM and 64GB internal storage. It also showed dual rear cameras and a 20MP front camera along with IR face unlock. Alleged specifications also included a 4000mAh battery with Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0 fast charging.
Even Xiaomi India’s Lead Product Manager, Jai Mani, has also been upbeat about Pocophone teasers and noted that the focus for Pocophone F1 is to “go back to basics and focus entirely on speed. Not just peak performance speed, but actual, real world, speed.”

With the Poco F1 or it may be the new sub-brand by Xiaomi, the company is looking to target the current flagship killer segment in India, which is dominated by OnePlus as per previous quarter numbers. If reports are to be believed, the Pocophone F1/ Poco F1 will be priced somewhere between Rs 30,000-40,000, and will be pit against the likes of the OnePlus 6.
