Xiaomi is set to launch Poco F1, its new flagship smartphone aimed at power users, next week. The Chinese smartphone, known for its budget and mid-range smartphones in the country, is pitching Poco as a sub-brand aimed at power users. The first smartphone from Poco sub-brand will be called Poco F1, and it is set to launch at an event in New Delhi on August 22.
Now, a teaser page for the smartphone suggests that the Poco F1 might be a Flipkart exclusive. The teaser page for the smartphone is now live on Flipkart’s mobile app, but there is no dedicated page yet on the desktop site. Since Xiaomi is promoting the Poco F1 as the fastest smartphone in its class, the Flipkart page is using the hashtag #AsFastAsYou. Apart from Flipkart, the smartphone should be available on Xiaomi’s Mi.com as well.

The Poco F1 is a project developed by Jai Mani, Head of Product at Xiaomi. The smartphone is expected to come with a 5.99-inch LCD display with a resolution of 2246×1080 pixels, which could mean an 18.7:9 aspect ratio similar to Huawei P20 Pro. It is said to sport a notched display similar to Xiaomi Mi 8, and will be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 CPU clocked at 2.8GHz and Adreno 630 GPU.
The smartphone is likely to be offered with 6GB of RAM and 64GB internal storage and there are reports of it getting liquid cooling solution. It will come with hybrid SIM slot, and support expandable storage up to 256GB. The leaked reports indicate Xiaomi offering dual rear camera setup with 12-megapixel and 5-megapixel image sensors.
At the front, Xiaomi is expected to include a 20-megapixel selfie shooter, which could be same as the one found on Redmi Note 5 Pro. There are reports of Xiaomi Poco F1’s front camera supporting IR facial recognition. Other rumored camera features include dual-pixel phase detect autofocus and 4K video recording. The Poco F1 will be also come equipped with a fingerprint sensor on the back.

The Poco F1 is also said to pack a larger 4,000mAh battery, and support Qualcomm’s Quick Charge 3.0 fast charging. The smartphone will likely compete against Asus Zenfone 5Z and OnePlus 6 in the premium mid-range segment. The Zenfone 5Z starts at Rs 29,999 for the variant with 6GB RAM and 64GB storage, while OnePlus 6 starts at Rs 34,999.
