Xiaomi to launch its Poco F1 smartphone on August 22, 2018, in India
Xiaomi just confirmed that it is launching its upcoming smartphone in the Indian market on August 22, 2018. The company took to its official Twitter account to tease the Poco F1-Master of Speed event. This comes days after the company announced that it is working on a new smartphone sub-brand to take on its competition.
The Poco F1 device will come with Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 hinting at flagship specifications. In addition to that, Pocophone F1/ Poco F1 is expected to carry a 5.99-inch notched display with a 19:9 aspect ratio.
Samsung slashes the price of its Galaxy J7 Duo to Rs 12,990
Samsung has just announced that it is slashing the price of its Samsung Galaxy J7 Duo smartphone by Rs 1,000 to bring it down to Rs 12,990.
The company launched the device earlier in the year with Rs 12,990. This is the second price cut as the company had previously reduced the price by Rs 4,000.
New plans by BSNL, Reliance Jio, and Vodafone
State-owned telecom operator Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) has announced that it is launching a new postpaid plan for Rs 499 where the company will offer 45GB data with unlimited voice calls with no FUP limit. In addition to the calls, the offer will also come with up to 100 SMS messages per day. The company is likely to take the competition to the competition with this new plan.
BSNL was not the only telecom operator to introduce new plans as Vodafone also launched its new Rs 99 prepaid plan to its 4G users. This new plan aims at users with heavy calling needs but the upper limits of the plan are not clear at the time of writing.
Reliance Jio also announced the extension of its additional 2GB 4G data plan as part of its Reliance Jio Digital Pack for select users until August 14, 2018.
Oppo F9 design leaks out on the internet
Real world images on Oppo s upcoming smartphone, the Oppo F9 leaked out on the internet just days before the launch of the device.
According to the images, the device comes with that waterdrop-shaped notch along with reduced bezels. The back of the device also comes with an oval-shaped fingerprint scanner at the center on the upper half of the body.
Tencent is planning to PUBG Mobile Lite to India
Tencent, the developer of PUBG is planning to launch a new version of its popular Battle Royale game for Android users who don t have a high-end device in the market.
A report pointed out that the developer is planning to bring the game to the Indian market soon. The game is already available in the Philippines at the time of writing.
Asus updates its ZenBook Pro, ZenBook S, and ZenBook 13 laptops
Asus India has just updated its ZenBook Series of laptops for the Indian market.
According to the report, the company has launched Asus ZenBook Pro 15 (UX580), ZenBook S (UX391), and ZenBook 13 (UX331) in India. These laptops come with the latest Intel 8th generation CPUs.
Xiaomi maintains its lead in the Indian smartphone market in Q2, 2018
Research and analysis firm IDC has released its numbers about Indian Smartphone market for Q2 2018. According to the report, the smartphone shipments grew by 20 percent in Q2 to 33.5 million units as compared to the numbers one year ago.
The report also pointed out that Xiaomi maintained its top spot with 10 million devices shipped and 29.7 percent market share as Samsung followed on the second spot with a 23.9 percent market share and 8 million devices.
