Poco F1 will now be able to shoot 960fps super slow-motion videos. Xiaomi has started pushing out a new MIUI 10 8.12.4 beta update for testers that brings new camera features including 960fps slow-motion video recording in addition to 120fps and 240fps, reports FoneArena. The company had also promised 4K video recording capabilities, but that hasn’t been shipped in this update and is still awaited.

According to report, Xiaomi Poco F1’s MIUI 10 8.12.4 beta update is 184MB in size, and is currently rolling out gradually to select beta testers. The next progression stage naturally is the Open Beta, which could be expected after some time or in next few weeks now.

Apart from 960fps video recording, the update changelog also mentions ‘Super low-light mode’ in the camera settings. Xiaomi has already demonstrated this low-light mode, which takes eight photos at different exposures and merges them into one. Lastly, the update also optimizes ‘Apps sections of the Settings’ which has got ‘a structural revamp’.

At present, Xiaomi’s Poco F1 runs Android 8.1 Oreo based MIUI with a skin on top. Xiaomi calls it MIUI For Poco. The Poco F1 comes with premium hardware at a cheaper price tag.

The company had promised Android 9 Pie update by Q4, 2018, and apparently it is already testing the firmware with closed MIUI Beta testers. The company recently confirmed that it is in the final phase of delivering on its promise. Xiaomi has also promised that Poco F1 will be offered one more version of Android, probably the Android Q.
