Xiaomi’s Poco F1 has created quite the buzz since its launch courtesy of the flagship-level specs it offers at an affordable price tag. Now, what will no doubt come as music to Poco F1 owners’ ears, the smartphone is likely to soon get the latest Android OS.
The Poco F1 was launched with Android 8.1 Oreo-based MIUI 9.6 out-of-the-box. But the smartphone has been spotted by GSMArena on Geekbench, and it is seen running the latest Android 9 Pie.
Interestingly though, the variant spotted on the site scores lower than the version running Android Oreo. This could very well mean that a lot of optimizations are left to be done before the update is rolled out. Still, the fact that an Android Pie version has been spotted testing means that an update couldn’t be that far off.
Xiaomi launched the Poco F1 in India amid much fanfare. It is available in multiple price points starting with the 64GB+6GB variant priced at Rs 20,999. The prices go up to Rs 29,999 for the Poco F1 Armored Edition with 256GB storage, and 8GB RAM.
