Xiaomi launched its new flagship smartphone called the Poco F1 in India, earlier in the month. The smartphone comes with high-end hardware and runs on Android 8.1 Oreo. And while Xiaomi has used the MIUI system on top of Android, the company has opted for a customized version of the UI, designed specifically for the Poco F1 called Poco Launcher. Now interestingly, Xiaomi has released the launcher on Google Play store, allowing users to download and install the UI on their Android smartphones, regardless of device being from Xiaomi or any other third-party brand.
While the app is compatible with most smartphones it should be noted that it is still under beta stage, which means it can be little unstable. The Google Play Store page mentions the app size and compatibility to vary depending on device and the Android OS. That said, it should be compatible with most recent smartphones. At the time of writing the story, the app had more than 10,000 downloads, within just a day. Currently though, the launcher is listed as an unreleased app and the early access is full.
The new Poco launcher promises to be lightweight while also offering some interesting features around customization and app management. The interface offers a convenient app search through recommendations and automatically organizing apps according to icon color categories, making it easier to find the way in the app drawer. It also categorizes apps based on similarity and puts all of them in one folder on its own. The option to create custom groups is also present. The most notable feature is that the launcher is dual-layered, with a dedicated app drawer.

The interface also offers the freedom to download and use third party icon packs in order to make the homescreen look more unique. There are some privacy settings included as well that help hide apps icons. Over everything though, the Poco Launcher claims to offer a fast and smooth smartphone experience, and is geared for the recently launched Xiaomi Poco F1.
