Xiaomi launched the affordable Redmi 2 in India earlier this year, and at the launch event also announced that it would soon be launching a limited edition with bumped up specifications. While Xiaomi is yet to announce its India launch plans, the Redmi 2 Prime has been spotted on Amazon India.The Xiaomi Redmi 2 Limited Edition will be called the Redmi 2 Prime, and it was first spotted by FoneArena on Amazon India. At the time of filing this story though, the listing has been removed. As mentioned above, the Redmi 2 Prime will essentially boast double the amount of RAM, and internal storage as well. Where the Redmi 2 features 1GB of RAM, and 8GB internal storage, the Redmi 2 Prime will feature 2GB of RAM, and 16GB internal storage. There s no word on the pricing though, since the listing on the e-commerce site only showed Currently Unavailable . Besides this bump in specs, the rest of the features remain the same. The Redmi 2 Prime has a 4.7-inch HD display with Asahi Dragontrail glass. It has a 1.2GHz Snapdragon 410 quad-core processor paired with 2GB RAM. It offers 16GB internal memory expandable up to 32GB via a microSD slot. The Redmi 2 Prime has an 8-megapixel rear camera that comes along with an LED flash light, and a 2 megapixel front camera. It packs a 2,200mAh Li-Po battery that claims to offer 14 hours of talktime, and runs on Android 4.4.4 KitKat.
Connectivity wise, the Redmi 2 Prime offers dual-SIM (micro), 4G support, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.
