Ever since Xiaomi entered Indian smartphone market, it has enjoyed good success with entry-level and budget smartphones. The Redmi Note 3 has been the company s best-selling smartphone, with a total of 23 lakh units being sold since it was launched back in March this year. The company also recently launched the Redmi 3s and Redmi 3s Prime in India, priced under Rs 9,000. While all of Xiaomi s smartphones are sold offline, the company is reportedly getting ready to unveil a new smartphone called Redmi 3s Plus, which will be the first offline-only retail smartphone. First reported by Gadgets 360, the smartphone is expected to be identical to the Redmi 3s Prime in terms of design. However, it will have 2GB of RAM, compared to 3GB on the Redmi 3s Prime. The smartphone will run Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow OS out-of-the-box and could retail at Rs 8,799. The report also states that retailers across India have already started getting the Redmi 3S Plus units and the sale is expected to commence from Saturday, October 1. BGR India has independently learnt about Xiaomi’s plans to launch an offline-only smartphone, however, the announcement could be made after October 1. Xiaomi Redmi 3s Plus specifications
The Redmi 3s Plus is expected to flaunt a 5-inch HD (720p) display, just like the Redmi 3s and Redmi 3s Prime. At the heart of the smartphone, Qualcomm s 64-bit Snapdragon 430 octa-core processor (eight Cortex A53 cores) paired with Adreno 505 GPU and 2GB of RAM is expected. In the camera department, a 13-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and a 5-megapixel selfie camera is expected. While the Redmi 3s Prime is equipped with 4,100mAh battery, there is no word on the battery capacity of the Redmi 3s Plus. The Xiaomi smartphone is also expected to come with a fingerprint scanner at the back for biometric authentication. 4G LTE and VoLTE voice calling support could also be expected on the smartphone. At this price tag, the smartphone will take on the likes of Moto E3 Power, which is priced at Rs 7,999 and Lenovo Vibe K5 Plus, which is priced at Rs 8,499. While neither of the competitor smartphones features a fingerprint scanner, the Vibe K5 Plus is equipped with a slightly better processor, display and more RAM. It sports a 5-inch full HD (1080p) display, Qualcomm s 64-bit Snapdragon 616 octa-core processor (eight Cortex A53 cores clocked up to 1.7GHz) paired with 3GB of RAM.
