The Xiaomi Redmi 3s and Redmi 3s Prime are all set to go on sale today. Both the smartphones will be available via Flipkart and Xiaomi s official site mi.com. Like previous sales, today s sale too is an open sale, and doesn t require any registrations. The company has however pointed out that there will be limited stocks available and sale will last until stock lasts. Looking at the previous sales, both the Redmi 3s and the Redmi 3s Prime are flying off the shelves almost as if it is a flash sale. Xiaomi had launched the Redmi 3s and Redmi 3s Prime last month, priced at Rs 6,999 and Rs 8,999, respectively. While both have similar set of specifications, the Redmi 3s Prime comes with more onboard storage and RAM and also features a fingerprint scanner. During the first sale, Xiaomi claims that they have sold a total of 90,000 units of the Redmi 3s Prime in about eight minutes.
Riding high on popularity of its budget smartphones, Xiaomi has grabbed third spot as the largest smartphone vendor across 30 cities in the country as of Q2, 2016. According to an IDC report, Xiaomi has a total of 8.1 percent share in these cities followed by Intex and Lenovo-Motorola combined with 8 percent and 7.2 percent shares respectively. While the Redmi 3s and Redmi 3 Note have been successful, Xiaomi is also looking to push its premium smartphone, the Mi 5. The company recently slashed the price of the phone. The Mi 5 that launched at Rs 24,999 is now available for 22,999.
Xiaomi Redmi 3s and Redmi 3s Prime specifications
The Xiaomi Redmi 3s comes with a 5-inch HD display. It runs Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 430 octa-core processor coupled with 2GB of RAM. It comes with 16GB of internal storage, and comes with microSD slot that supports additional storage up to 128GB. The smartphone sports 13-megapixel rear and 5-megapixel front cameras. It is priced at Rs 6,999.

Common features of the smartphone include a 4,100mAh battery, and connectivity options such as dual-SIM card slots (hybrid setup), 4G LTE support, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and GPS. On the software front, both smartphones run on on Android Marshmallow 6.0 based MIUI 7.
