Xiaomi had launched the Redmi 3s in China last month, and now the company is planning on bringing the affordable smartphone to India. As the name suggests, this smartphone is essentially a variant of the Redmi 3 boasting a full-metal magnesium alloy unibody design and a fingerprint scanner. Prices for the smartphone start from 699 Yuan, which is Rs 7,000 respectively. Xiaomi hasn’t revealed an exact launch date, but we expect the company to sooner than later. On launch, the smartphone is expected to be placed below the popular Redmi Note 3. Around the Rs 7,000 and Rs 9,000 price range, the upcoming smartphone will be up against the likes of the Lenovo Vibe K5, Reliance Digital LYF Wind 5, and CoolPad Note 3 Lite to name a few. Xiaomi Redmi 3s prices
Xiaomi launched two variants of the Redmi 3s in China — 16GB and 32GB. The 16GB storage variant comes with 2GB of RAM and is priced at 699 Yuan (Rs 7,000 approximately). The 32GB storage variant, on the other hand, comes with 3GB of RAM and is priced at 899 Yuan (Rs 9,000 approximately).

The Chinese variant flaunts a 5-inch HD (1280×720 pixels) display, and is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 430 octa-core chipset. Storage options include 16GB and 32GB options, and there is also a hybrid SIM card slot. This setup allows one to either use two SIM cards, or one SIM card and one microSD card.

The Xiaomi Redmi 3s also features a 13-megapixel rear camera with LED flash, phase-detection auto-focus (PDAF) support, while up front is a 5-megapixel selfie camera. The 16GB variant comes with a 4,000mAh battery, while the 32GB variant comes with a 4,100mAh battery.
It also includes a fingerprint scanner placed at the back, and connectivity options include 4G LTE support, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.1, and GPS. It remains to be seen whether Xiaomi launches the same specifications or modifies something for India, like it did with the Redmi Note 3.
