The Redmi 4 is available in three variants in terms of memory. The base variant of the Redmi 4 with 2GB RAM plus 16GB storage is priced at Rs 6,999, the 3GB RAM and 32GB storage variant is priced at Rs 8,999, and the 4GB RAM plus 64GB variant is priced at Rs 10,999. The top-end variant however is yet to go on sale, and it will not be available on June 6 either. Amazon India had a couple of launch offers on purchase of the Redmi 4 which included up to Rs 5,000 off on flights and hotels booked via goibibo. Vodafone users would get 45GB data free for five months and Rs 200 promotion credit for Kindle books.
Xiaomi is already known to break records with possibly every smartphone sale, and the Redmi 4 did not fail either. The first sale of Redmi 4 on May 20 garnered Rs 5 crore in sales revenue for Xiaomi. The Redmi 4 looks like a mini version of the Redmi Note 4 and essentially succeeds the Redmi 3s in the budget segment. The Xiaomi Redmi 4 flaunts a 5-inch HD (720p) IPS display. Under the hood of the smartphone, runs Qualcomm s Snapdragon 435 octa-core SoC. In the photography department, the Redmi 4 sports a 13-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and phase detection auto-focus (PDAF) support. The smartphone is fuelled by a 4,100mAh battery. The connectivity options available on the Redmi 4 include dual-SIM card support, 4G with VoLTE support, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and GPS. On the software front, the smartphone runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow-based MIUI 8.2. The beta version of Android 7.0 Nougat based MIUI 8 is now available for Redmi 4 users to test.
