Just yesterday the company launched the Redmi Note 4 in China, and a few weeks ago, Xiaomi launched the Redmi 3S and Redmi 3S Prime in India. Xiaomi is also working on the Redmi 4 smartphone which is expected to be launched soon. We have already come across leaked benchmark listing of the Redmi 4, which revealed some of its key specifications and features. Now, yet another Xiaomi smartphone, which we believe could be the Redmi 4, has been spotted on a Geekbench listing that sheds some light on its specifications. Carrying a code name Xiaomi Mido, it Is powered by Qualcomm s Snapdragon 625 octa-core processor (eight Cortex A53 cores) clocked at 2GHz and paired with 2GB of RAM. It is expected to come with 16GB of onboard storage, suggesting it could be the base variant of the Redmi 4. Running on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow, the Xiaomi Mido smartphone in question has logged a score of 842 and 3,608 in single-core and multi-core tests. A few weeks ago, another variant of the Redmi 4 was also spotted on Geekbench listing with Snapdragon 625 octa-core processor, 3GB of RAM and 32GB onboard storage. It had logged a score of 929 and 4,751 in single-core and multi-core tests. The smartphone is rumored to come with a metal unibody design, a fingerprint scanner and 4,100mAh battery with fast charging support. Rumors also point to a 5-inch full HD display, and if it turns out to be true, it could be Xiaomi s affordable smartphone with 1080p resolution screen. On the connectivity front, 4G LTE with VoLTE voice calling support, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi 802.11ac and GPS are expected. While there is no word on the launch date, prices for the base variant are expected to start at RMB 699, which is approximately Rs 7,050.
In comparison, the Redmi 3 is equipped with a 5-inch HD display and powered by Qualcomm s Snapdragon 616 octa-core processor (eight Cortex A53 cores in quad-core setup) paired with 2GB of RAM and 16GB onboard storage. It also comes equipped with a 13-megapixel rear camera and 5-megapixel selfie camera. Connectivity options on the smartphone include Bluetooth, dual SIM 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac and GPS. With 4,100mAh battery and Quick Charge 2.0 support, it runs in Android 5.0-based MIUI 7.
