Earlier this month, Xiaomi launched three new smartphones in India the Redmi 6, the Redmi 6A, and the Redmi 6 Pro. The Redmi 6 is priced at Rs 7,999 for the base variant with 32GB storage, whereas the 64GB variant will be available for Rs 9,499. Xiaomi did mention that this is the introductory price, and if dollar fluctuates, it may be forced to raise the prices. The Redmi 5A, on the other hand, is available for Rs 5,999 for the 2GB RAM variant, whereas the 3GB RAM variant is priced at Rs 6,999. The smartphone features a 5.45-inch HD+ display with an aspect ratio of 18:9. Under the hood is a MediaTek Helio P22 SoC with an octa-core CPU, paired with 3GB of RAM. As mentioned above, you have two storage options to choose from 32GB and 64GB, and a microSD card slot for further expansion is also present.
In the photography department, the Redmi 6 sports a dual camera module a 12-megapixel primary sensor and a 5-megapixel secondary depth sensor with AI portrait mode. Up front is a 5-megapixel selfie snapper along with AI beauty mode. Armed with a 3,000mAh battery, connectivity options on the smartphone include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and GPS.

The Redmi 5A sports a 5-inch HD (720p) display with the traditional 16:9 wide screen aspect ratio. Under the hood is a Snapdragon 425 SoC paired with 2GB RAM with 16GB storage, and 3GB RAM with 32GB storage options to choose from. With a 13-megapixel rear snapper, a 5-megapixel front camera, and a 3,000mAh battery, connectivity options on the smartphone remain the same as the Redmi 6. Both smartphones run Android Oreo OS, and there is no word on Android Pie update as of now.
