Xiaomi conducted the first flash sale of the recently launched Redmi 5A yesterday. The sale began at 12:00PM on Flipkart and mi.com and just like other Mi smartphones, the Redmi 5A also went out of stock instantly. While the company didn’t reveal the total number of units sold, it announced that the smartphone will go on sale again on December 14. The December 14 sale will be conducted via Flipkart and mi.com. The company promised to make it available in all the major retail stores and Mi Homes across the country. The phone is marketed as desh ka smartphone and comes with an affordable price tag. The Redmi 5A comes with a metallic matte finish and offers eight days of standby battery. In terms of pricing, the 2GB+16GB storage variant is priced at Rs 5,999, and the 3GB+32GB variant is priced at Rs 6,999. The smartphone comes with a 5-inch HD screen with 720 1280 resolution. SImilar to the Redmi 4A, the Xiaomi Redmi 5A features the quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 chipset clocked at 1.4GHx. The smartphone is available in two storage variants: 2GB RAM and 16GB memory, and 3GB and 32GB internal memory.
In terms of camera, the Redmi 5A has a 13-megapixel camera at the back along with f/2.2 aperture, panorama mode, burst mode, HDR mode, etc. On the front, the mobile has a 5-megapixel selfie shooter with f/2.0 aperture.
The Xiaomi Redmi 5A is a dual-SIM mobile and is fueled by a 3,000mAh battery. On the connectivity front, the device has VoLTE, 3G, Bluetooth, WiFI, as well as micro-USB. The device has a hybrid SIM slot. The smartphone has an Android 7.1 Nougat based on MIUI 9 skin out-of-the-box.
