Launched around eight months ago, the Xiaomi Redmi 5A still has to be one of the best entry level smartphones in the sub-Rs 7,000 price range. The smartphone is known to offer a good set of features in a premium looking design. However, one of the good things about it is that Xiaomi has still been providing software updates for it on regular basis. And now, the Xiaomi Redmi 5A is getting the new MIUI V184.108.40.206 update.
This the second update Xiaomi Redmi 5A has received this month, and one of its highlights is that it carries the security patch for July. While it’s almost a month late, it’s still quite commendable of Xiaomi to provide the update for an entry-level smartphone like the Redmi 5A.
Along with that, the update also comes with some minor bug fixes and other system improvements as reported by MySmartPrice. One of issues it addresses is with the duplicate WhatsApp app, which did not show contacts. Minor irregularities noticed with the text in the OS and the notification bar have also been fixed.
The new update is called MIUI 220.127.116.11.NCKMIFD, and it is about 197MB in size. Xiaomi is rolling out the update through OTA, so users should be getting notification on their Redmi 5A to download and install it. However, if you’ve somehow managed to skip the notification, you can manually check for it by going into the Settings app.
