Xiaomi’s best selling smartphone has reached a new milestone with 10 million devices sold. The budget-smartphone achieved this landmark within just nine months since it launched according to IDC s monthly smartphone tracker for August 2018. The company also claims that the Redmi 5A is the only smartphone in India to have retained the number one position and has continued its dominance in the budget segment. Xiaomi is still selling the smartphone in India despite having launched the successor Redmi 6A last month. Both smartphones share a price point of Rs 5,999 for the 2GB RAM variant. The Xiaomi Redmi 5A has two variants, one that comes with 2GB RAM and 16GB internal storage priced at Rs 5,999, and the other one with 3GB RAM and 32GB internal storage priced at Rs 6,999.
The Xiaomi Redmi 5A flaunts a 5-inch HD display that features resolution of 1280 720 pixels, and an aspect ratio of 16:9. It is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 chipset, and the internal storage is expandable up to 128GB via a microSD card.

In the photography department, the device is equipped with a 13-megapixel rear camera with f/2.2 aperture, LED flash, and PDAF support. Upfront, it features a 5-megapixel camera with f/2.0 aperture for taking selfies.
