Xiaomi Redmi 5A, the entry-level smartphone from the Chinese company, will be available for purchase today at 12PM. The smartphone will be available on Xiaomi’s own website and on Flipkart. The sale will be one more opportunity for those looking to buy the budget smartphone from Xiaomi.
The Xiaomi Redmi 5A is priced at Rs 5,999 and will be available in Gold, Dark Grey, Light Blue and Rose Gold color options. Xiaomi is currently the leader in Indian smartphone market and has dethroned Samsung on the back of strong sales of its budget and mid-range smartphones. The Redmi 5A is the successor to Redmi 4A, which was among the top three best-selling smartphones in the country last year.
The sale begins at 12PM and those planning to buy the budget smartphone should have their address and payment details saved on the e-commerce platform. In the past, Xiaomi smartphones have ran out of stocks within few seconds of the sales going live.
Xiaomi Redmi 5A specifications and price
The Redmi 5A is an entry-level device and it naturally comes with entry-level specifications as well. The smartphone is built using a material that resembles the qualities of metal and it measures 140.4mm x 70.1mm x 8.35mm in dimensions and weighs 137 grams. The Redmi 5A features a 5-inch display with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels and is powered by a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 chipset. It will be available in two different storage options: 2GB RAM model with 16GB storage and 3GB RAM variant offering 32GB of storage.
On the camera front, the Redmi 5A sports a 13-megapixel primary camera with 5-element lens, HDR and single LED flash. At the front, it features a 5-megapixel selfie camera with f/2.0 aperture and face recognition support. It comes with connectivity options like WiFi, Bluetooth 4.1, GPS and 4G LTE.

The dual-SIM Redmi 5A runs MIUI 9 based on Android Nougat and is backed by a 3,000mAh battery. The Redmi 5A is priced at Rs 5,999 for the 2GB RAM variant and Rs 6,999 for the 3GB RAM variant.
