Launched last week, the much anticipated Xiaomi Redmi 6 is going on sale today via Flipkart and mi.com at 12:00PM. The budget smartphone comes in one varaint of 3GB RAM and 32GB storage and is priced at Rs 7,999. Being the successor to the Redmi 5, the smartphone boasts a taller screen and a dual-rear camera setup this time around. It also comes in a fancy design that is available in three color options of Black, Blue and Gold.
As a part of the first sale, both Flipkart and Xiaomi have a few offers going on their respective websites. HDFC users can get an instant Rs 500 off on purchase made through credit or debit card. On Flipkart, Axis bank is also offering a 5 percent discount on its Buzz credit cards. Xiaomi on the other hand is offering Mi Protect for an additional Rs 549 and a 3-month Hungama Music subscription for free.
Xiaomi Redmi 6 features and specifications
The Xiaomi Redmi 6 features a 5.45-inch HD+ display with a resolution of 720 x 1440 pixels and an aspect ratio of 18:9. It comes powered by MediaTek Helio P22 octa-core SoC, which sports maximum clock speeds of 2.0GHz. Tagged alongside, the smartphpne comes with 3GB RAM and 32GB storage. Additionally, the smartphone storage can be expanded up to 256GB via a microSD card.

The dual-rear camera setup on the Redmi 6 consists of a 12-megapixel primary sensor working alongside a 5-megapixel secondary sensor. Upfront, it boasts a 5-megapixel camera for taking selfies. The camera is backed by AI beautification mode to help take perfect pictures. Connectivity options include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, GLONASS, Micro-USB, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. The smartphone is backed by a 3,000mAh battery and runs on MIUI 9.6 based Android 8.1 Oreo underneath its hood.
