Xiaomi Redmi 6 Pro, Redmi 6, Redmi 6A launched in India: Price, specifications, features

Xiaomi's Redmi lineup gets incremental updates, while also getting the new Redmi 6 Pro device.

Xiaomi has just launched its Redmi 6 series in the Indian market. The lineup includes the Redmi 6, Redmi 6A, and a third device called Redmi 6 Pro. The company has priced the Xiaomi Redmi 6 from Rs 7,999, Redmi 6A from Rs 5,999, and the Redmi 6 Pro from Rs 10,999. To pull customers, the company has also introduced a launch offers for potential customers who are planning to buy devices from the Redmi 6 lineup.

Xiaomi Redmi 6 lineup pricing

Xiaomi has tried to keep the prices on par with the existing Redmi 5 lineup. The Redmi 6A with 2GB RAM and 16GB internal storage is priced at Rs 5,999, while the 2GB RAM and 32GB internal storage variant will come for Rs 6,999.

Moving to the Redmi 6, the base variant with 3GB RAM and 32GB internal storage is priced at Rs 7,999, while the 3GB RAM and 64GB storage variant will set you back by Rs 9,499. Xiaomi pointed out that the pricing for the Redmi 6 and the Redmi 6A is introductory for the first two months.

The new Xiaomi Redmi 6 Pro with base variant packing 3GB RAM along with 32GB internal storage is priced at Rs 10,999, while the 4GB RAM with 64GB internal storage is priced at Rs 12,999.

The new Redmi 6A will go on sale starting from September 19, 2018, on Amazon India and Mi.com at 12PM. Talking about the Redmi 6, the device is set to go on sale on Flipkart and Mi.com from September 10, 2018, at 12PM. Lastly, the Xiaomi Redmi 6 Pro will go on sale from September 11, 2018, at 12PM on Amazon India and Mi.com.

Xiaomi has also introduced a launch offer for the Redmi 6 and the Redmi 6 Pro where potential buyers can get Rs 500 off on using their HDFC Bank credit and debit cards.

Xiaomi Redmi 6A specifications, features

Xiaomi has not opted for dramatic changes in the hardware and is instead sticking to what is tried and tested. The Xiaomi Redmi 6A features a 5.45-inch HD+ IPS LCD display panel with 18:9 aspect ratio, and 720×1440 pixels. The device is powered by MediaTek Helio A22 quad-core SoC. The device will come with an option to expand the storage with the help of the second hybrid nano-SIM slot with a microSD card of up to 256GB in capacity.

Xiaomi has added a 13-megapixel camera sensor with a f/2.2 aperture on the back of the device along with phase detection autofocus system and LED flash unit. The device also comes with a 5-megapixel camera sensor on the front for selfies. Connectivity options include Wi-Fi, 4G VoLTE-enabled dual nano-SIM slot, Bluetooth 4.2, Wi-Fi, microUSB 2.0 port, GPS, and FM radio for connectivity. The device runs on a 3,000mAh lithium ion battery with Android 8.1 Oreo-based MIUI 9.6 out-of-the-box on the software side of things.

Redmi 6 is similar to the Redmi 6A in terms of the display technology, connectivity options, battery, and software. However, the company has added a MediaTek Helio P22 SoC along with up to 3GB RAM and 64GB internal storage. Xiaomi has also added a dual camera setup on the back of the device with a 12-megapixel primary camera sensor with a f/2.2 aperture along with a 5-megapixel secondary camera sensor with f/2.2 aperture.

The front comes with the usual 5-megapixel camera sensor for selfies. The device also comes with a fingerprint sensor at the back.

Xiaomi Redmi 6 Pro specifications, features

Moving to the new Redmi 6 Pro, the specifications are the same as the ones on the Xiaomi Mi A2 Lite that the company launched in Spain a couple of weeks back. It comes with a 5.84-inch IPS LCD FHD+ display panel with 1080×2280 pixels, 19:9 aspect ratio, and that infamous iPhone X-like display notch. Similar to the Redmi 6 and the 6A, the device runs Android 8.1 Oreo-based MIUI 9.6 out of the box.

The device is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 SoC with Adreno 506 GPU, up to 4GB RAM, and 64GB internal storage. The company has also added a dedicated microSD slot so that users can expand the internal storage of the device with a card of up to 256GB in capacity.

The Redmi 6 Pro comes with a dual camera setup on the back with a setup that is similar to the one we saw in the Redmi 6 along with the 5-megapixel camera sensor on the front for selfies. It also comes with the similar connectivity options to that present in the Redmi 6 and 6A. The only difference here is that the device will be powered by a 4,000mAh battery instead of a 3,000mAh battery while packing an infrared blaster.
