Xiaomi has already sent out media invites for the launch of its Redmi 6 series in India on September 5. The Redmi 6 series is expected to include three different devices and now, Amazon India has confirmed that the smartphone will be exclusively available on its platform.
The microsite for the smartphone on Amazon India shows two models, one with a notch and another one without a notch. There is a possibility that the third device, shown in Xiaomi’s original teaser, could be exclusive on Flipkart. Amazon India is also teasing the notched display on the Redmi 6 with the message “Upgrade your display”. The upcoming Redmi 6 is expected to be the cheapest smartphone from the company to feature a notched display.
The teaser for the smartphone on Amazon India also claims that the Redmi 6 series will take flawless pictures, will be powerful and efficient, never run out of battery, and unlock with a glance. The Chinese smartphone maker is expected to launch the Redmi 6A, Redmi 6 and Redmi 6 Pro smartphones in the country tomorrow.
Xiaomi has been teasing that the Redmi 6 will support dual 4G VoLTE feature, which could be enabled by use of newest MediaTek processor. The Redmi 6A is expected to be the variant with 2GB or 3GB of RAM and 16GB or 32GB of internal storage. The Redmi 6 will also come in two storage variants: 3GB RAM variant with option for either 32GB or 64GB internal storage. Both the Redmi 6A and Redmi 6 are rumored to come in black, blue, gold and rose gold colors. The Redmi 6 Pro will be the top end model with 3GB or 4GB of RAM and 32GB or 64GB internal storage. It will come in black, blue, gold and red color options.

The Redmi 6A will be the successor to Redmi 5A, which has emerged as the best selling smartphone in the country. It is expected to be priced at Rs 5,999 for the base variant while the model with higher storage could be expensive by Rs 1,000. The Redmi 6 could be priced around Rs 8,499 for the base variant while Redmi 6 Pro could start at Rs 11,999 in India.

The Redmi 6A and Redmi 6 are rumored to feature a 5.45-inch display with HD+ resolution of 1440×720 pixels, and 18:9 aspect ratio. The smartphones could be powered by MediaTek Helio P22 processor and support expandable storage. The Redmi 6A is expected to feature a 13-megapixel main camera and a 5-megapixel selfie camera.
The Redmi 6, on the other hand, could rock dual rear camera setup with 13-megapixel main sensor and 5-megapixel secondary sensor. It will also feature a 5-megapixel camera at the front for shooting selfies. Both Redmi 6A and Redmi 6 are expected to be backed by a 3,000mAh battery, and run MIUI 9 based on Android 8.1 Oreo.

The Redmi 6 Pro will be the premium model of the three devices, and is expected to feature a slightly larger 5.84-inch Full HD+ display. The notched display might allow for more pixels and even taller aspect ratio. It could be powered by Xiaomi’s much preferred Snapdragon 625 chipset, and feature dual cameras on the back. This particular device might have a larger 4,000mAh battery, and run Android 8.1 Oreo with MIUI 9 on top.
