On May 31, Xiaomi hosted a mega event where it took the wraps off a bunch of devices, including its flagship Mi 8 smartphone. Now the Chinese company has quietly put up a poster on its Weibo account hinting at yet another launch event in China on June 12.
The launch teaser poster on Weibo (spotted by Gizmochina) couldn’t have been more clear about Xiaomi’s plans. The large ‘6’ depicted on the poster is a clear indication that the company plans to launch the Redmi 6 series of smartphones on June 12.

The Redmi 6 is no stranger to the rumor mills, and we already have a fair idea on what to expect from the upcoming smartphone. It will be adopting a modern design with a tall display at the front, and an overall metallic body. As for specifications, it is expected to feature a 5.84-inch FHD+ display with 18:9 aspect ratio. Under the hood is likely to be a Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 octa-core SoC clocked at 2.0GHz.
The smartphone could be launched in three variants – 16GB+2GB RAM, 32GB+3GB RAM, and 64GB+4GB RAM. Other expected features include a dual-camera setup at the back, 5-megapixel selfie camera, 3,900mAh battery, and a fingerprint sensor at the back. On the software front, it could run Android Oreo-based MIUI 10.

Interestingly, reports claim that Xiaomi could be launching as many as three smartphones on June 12. In addition to the Redmi 6, we could also see a launch of the Redmi 6A and Redmi 6 Pro.

The Redmi 6A is rumored to come with a 5.45-inch HD+ 18:9 display, Snapdragon 625 octa-core SoC, and three variants differentiated by storage and memory. Further, it is also expected to come with a 13-megapixel rear camera, 5-megapixel front camera, 3,000mAh battery, and Android Oreo-based MIUI 10.
