After recently launching the flagship Mi 8-series smartphones in China, Xiaomi is all set to introduce the entry-level and affordable Redmi 6-series smartphones in the country. The launch event is scheduled for 2:00PM CST, which corresponds to 11:30AM IST. The Chinese smartphone maker is widely expected to launch three smartphones the Redmi 6, Redmi 6A and the Redmi 6 Pro. The Redmi 6 and Redmi 6A will be the successors to last year s Redmi 5 and Redmi 5A smartphones, whereas the Redmi 6 Pro will be a successor to the Redmi 5 Plus. Xiaomi has been teasing lag-free performance in the long run, and it remains to be seen how well it has optimized the MIUI 10 to ensure you get a smooth experience after months of usage. Xiaomi Redmi 6, Redmi 6A, Redmi Pro specifications and features
All three smartphones are likely to run Android 8.1 Oreo OS with MIUI 10 interface on top. The Redmi 6 and Redmi 6A could flaunt a 5.45-inch HD+ display with 18:9 aspect ratio. Under the hood, both smartphones could be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 octa-core SoC, paired with 2GB RAM and 16GB storage, 3GB RAM with 32GB storage, and 4GB RAM with 64GB storage options.
To keep things ticking, the smartphones could be armed with a 3,000mAh battery. Where the Redmi 6A is expected to come with a single camera at the back, the Redmi 6 could get a dual camera setup. Up front, both smartphones are expected to come with a 5-megapixel selfie camera.
The Redmi 6 Pro, on the other hand, could sport a slightly larger 5.84-inch full HD+ display with 19:9 aspect ratio, and a notch. It could also get a dual rear camera setup comprising of a 12-megapixel primary sensor and a 5-megapixel secondary depth sensor. TENAA listing has also revealed a slightly larger 4,000mAh battery on the Redmi 6 Pro.
There is no word on the pricing and availability, of the smartphones, but with the event less than two hours away, we will know more when Xiaomi makes the smartphones official.
