The Xiaomi Redmi 6A, launched in September as part of the company’s latest range of affordable smartphones, goes on sale today at 12:00PM via Amazon India. The 2GB RAM/16GB storage option is being put on sale today, while the 32GB storage variant is already available. The base variant of the Xiaomi Redmi 6A was originally priced at Rs 5,999, but sees a slight increase in price to Rs 6,599 during this sale.
The entry-level device in the current range of products from the company, the Xiaomi Redmi 6A has been a popular option for buyers looking for an affordable smartphone. Covering the basics, the Xiaomi Redmi 6A fulfills the core needs from any smartphone, and is capable of running all standard Android apps. While a slightly more expensive variant has been more easily available, the budget option has been the top seller for the Chinese smartphone maker, and still faces demand that outstrips supply.

The device is powered by a MediaTek Helio A22 quad-core SoC, and comes with an option to expand the storage with the help of the second hybrid nano-SIM slot with a microSD card of up to 256GB in capacity.

Xiaomi has added a 13-megapixel camera sensor with a f/2.2 aperture on the back of the device along with phase detection autofocus system and LED flash unit. The device also comes with a 5-megapixel front camera. Connectivity options include Wi-Fi, 4G VoLTE-enabled dual nano-SIM slot, Bluetooth 4.2, Wi-Fi, microUSB 2.0 port, GPS, and FM radio for connectivity. The device runs on a 3,000mAh lithium ion battery with Android 8.1 Oreo-based MIUI 9.6 out-of-the-box.
