Two weeks after launching in India, the Xiaomi Redmi 6A is going on sale again today in the country through Amazon India and mi.com at 12:00PM. The smartphone is the successor to the Redmi 5A, which is known to be one of the best budget smartphones under the sub-Rs 7,000 category. Those who are interested should know that there will be limited stocks, so it is recommended to login to the respective website before the sale begins.
The Xiaomi Redmi 6A is priced the same as its predecessor at Rs 5,999 for the 2GB RAM and 16GB storage variant. There is also a higher-end variant, which comes with 2GB RAM and 32GB storage, which is priced at Rs 6,999. There are some offers available on the smartphone as well. Xiaomi is offering Mi Protect on the smartphone for Rs 549 and a 3-month subscription for Hungama Music. Jio is also offering an instant cashback of Rs 2,200 and 100GB of free 4G data.
Xiaomi Redmi 6A specifications and features
Xiaomi Redmi 6A follows the current trends and features a 5.45-inch HD+ display, which carries a resolution of 1440 × 720 pixels and an 18:9 aspect ratio. While the Redmi 5A was powered by a Snapdragon processor, the Redmi 6A packs in a MediaTek Helio A22 quad core SoC, which flaunts clock speeds of 2GHz. As mentioned, both the variants of the smartphones come with 2GB of RAM, but with 16GB and 32GB of storage options. The smartphone features expandable storage up to 256GB via microSD.
For taking pictures, Xiaomi has loaded the Redmi 6A with a 13-megapixel rear camera and a 5-megapixel front camera. Both cameras support an f/2.2 aperture. The front camera is also backed by AI Portrait mode and AI beautify. The smartphone runs on a 3,000mAh battery and features Android 8.1 Oreo layered with MIUI 9.6 on top Xiaomi promises to upgrade it to MIUI 10 soon.
