Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 Pro teased by President Bin Lin ahead of November 24 launch

Xiaomi is hosting an event in China on November 24, where various reports suggest that it could be launching the much-rumored Redmi Note 2 Pro. Xiaomi President Bin Lin has surprisingly jumped the gun and all but confirmed the imminent launch of the phablet. Bin put up a photo on Weibo, which shows the back panel of the forthcoming phablet. The photo is not only in line with the various leaked images we have come across so far, but also confirms the presence of the fingerprint sensor placed below the camera lens. The Redmi Note 2 Pro is essentially an improved variant of the Redmi Note 2, which was launched in August. It will not only feature a metallic body, but is also among the first devices in the company s portfolio to boast a fingerprint scanner.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 Pro specifications and features: From what we have come across so far, the Redmi Note 2 Pro will feature a 5.5-inch 1080p display, 2GHz MediaTek Helio X10 octa-core 64-bit chipset, and 2GB or 3GB of RAM.

It is also expected to feature 16GB internal storage, 13-megapixel rear camera, 5-megapixel selfie camera, 3,060mAh battery, and connectivity options like 4G LTE support, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and GPS. On the software front, it is expected to run on Android Lollipop-based MIUI 7 out-of-the-box.

While it is all but clear that Xiaomi will be unveiling the Redmi Note 2 Pro at the event, some reports also claim that the company might also showcase the Mi Pad 2. Per some leaks, the next-generation tablet is expected to feature a 7.9-inch (2048 1536 pixels) display, 2.24GHz Intel Atom x5-Z8500 quad-core chipset, 2GB of RAM, 16GB internal storage, and run on Android Lollipop-based MIUI 7.
