While all eyes are on the Mi 5 smartphone, in India Xiaomi is gearing up to launch the Redmi Note 3. The variant powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 650 chipset is being brought to India, and the Redmi Note 3 launch event is scheduled for March 3. BGR India has learnt that the Redmi Note 3’s price in India will be similar to that in China, or in other words, it will retail for less than Rs 15,000.
Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 price: Xiaomi has launched two variants of the Redmi Note 3 in China — 16GB storage variant with 2GB of RAM, and 32GB storage variant with 3GB of RAM. The 16GB variant is priced at 999 Yuan that roughly translates to Rs 10,000. There is however no word on the pricing of the 32GB variant. Xiaomi is sticking to a similar price strategy, and the phablet will retail for less than Rs 15,000 in India.
At a relatively low price, the Redmi Note 3 offers quite a bit of value for money. For one, it boasts a full-metal body. There is also a fingerprint sensor placed below the rear camera, which the company says is fast enough to unlock the device in less than a second.
Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 specifications and features: The phablet features a 5.5-inch 1080p display, and Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 650 chipset. It also features a 16-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and PDAF, while up front there is a 5-megapixel selfie camera.
The 16GB variant features a 4,000mAh battery, while the 32GB variant features a slightly bigger 4,050mAh battery. Connectivity options include dual-SIM card slots, and 4G LTE support, and on the software front, it runs on Android Lollipop-based MIUI 7.
