Xiaomi launched the Redmi Note 4 in three variants — 32GB with 2GB RAM, 32GB with 3GB RAM, and a 64GB variant with 4GB RAM. The base model is priced at Rs 9,999, the mid-variant is priced at Rs 10,999, while the top-end variant is priced at Rs 12,999. The company revealed last week that only the gold and dark grey variants will be available today, while the matte black edition will be available sometime later. Those opting to buy the device off Flipkart will be able to take advantage of a few deals. These include five percent discount for Axis Bank Buzz credit card users, and EMIs starting from as low as Rs 631 per month. The Redmi Note 4, as the name suggests, is the successor to the highly popular Redmi Note 3. While the overall design hasn t changed a lot, the new smartphone does come with improved internals, and it will be interesting to see if the Redmi Note 4 is able to replicate the success of its predecessor. As far as the specifications go, the Redmi Note 4 comes with a 5.5-inch 1080p display with 2.5D Curved Glass on top, and it is powered by Qualcomm s Snapdragon 625 octa-core processor clocked at 2GHz. The onboard storage on all three variants can be expanded up to 128GB using a microSD card.
For photography, the smartphone is equipped with a 13-megapixel rear camera with PDAF support, while up front, there is a 5-megapixel snapper with f/2.0 aperture. Under the hood is a 4,100mAh battery, a fingerprint sensor is placed at the back, and connectivity options include dual-SIM card slots, 4G with VoLTE and more. On the software front, the Redmi Note 4 Android Marshmallow-based MIUI 8, and Xiaomi is promising an Android Nougat update will come pretty soon.
