The Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 has been the company s one of the popular and best-selling smartphones. In just two months since its launch in March in India, Xiaomi managed to sell six lakh units of the smartphone. Now, it seems like the company has already started working on its successor, the Redmi Note 4. A purported leaked teaser of the smartphone has surfaced on Weibo, revealing one of its key features. The teaser shows a model holding the alleged Redmi Note 4 that features a metal unibody design, visible antenna bands at the top and bottom, and the dual camera setup at the back, the LED flash is placed between the camera modules.
The upcoming Mi Note 2 is also expected to come with dual-camera setup at the back and dual edge display. While we have already seen the dual camera feature on HTC s One M8 and One M9+, the recently launched Honor 8 and LG G5 also sport a dual camera setup at the back. That s not all; the upcoming iPhone 7 Plus is also heavily rumored to come with dual cameras at the back.
The leaked Redmi Note 4 teaser also shows the MI logo further down. And while the Redmi Note 3 houses a fingerprint scanner at the back, the same seems to be missing from the alleged Redmi Note 4. Probably, Xiaomi may choose to integrate it inside the physical home button on the front, which would be new for the Redmi series. While details on hardware are missing at the moment, the Redmi Note 4 is rumored to sport a 5.5-inch display, Qualcomm s Snapdragon 652 SoC, 3GB of RAM and 16GB of onboard storage.
In comparison, the Redmi Note 3 features a 5.5-inch full HD (1080p) display, Qualcomm s Snapdragon 650 SoC, 2GB of RAM (16GB storage variant) and 3GB of RAM (32GB storage variant). With 16-megapixel rear camera, 5-megapixel front-facing camera, and 4,000mAh battery (4,050mAh on 32GB storage variant), the smartphone comes with connectivity features such as Bluetooth, 4G LTE with VoLTE support, Wi-Fi and GPS. It runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop based MIUI 7 and is due to get Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow based MIUI 8 in the coming weeks.
