To recall, the Redmi Note 5 and Redmi Note 5 Pro went on their first sale on February 22 and the company claimed to have sold over 3 lakh units of the devices within less than 3 minutes of the start of the sale. The second sale was held on February 28, but the company did not share details on how many units it sold during the sale. The Redmi Note 5 and Redmi Note 5 Pro were announced in India on February 14 and are seen as a major improvement over last year’s Redmi Note 4. The smartphones bring modern design with thinner bezels and curved edges to the mid-range price segment. With the Redmi Note 5 and Redmi Note 5 Pro, Xiaomi is focusing on camera, where it has not had much success in the past.
In terms of specifications, the Redmi Note 5 and Redmi Note 5 Pro share a 5.99-inch display with a Full HD+ resolution of 2160 x 1080 pixels. The Redmi Note 5 is powered by Snapdragon 625 SoC, the same chip also found under the hood of Redmi Note 4. The Redmi Note 5 Pro gets a more powerful Snapdragon 636 chipset.
The Redmi Note 5 comes in two storage variants: 3GB RAM model with 32GB storage and 4GB RAM model with 64GB storage. The Redmi Note 5 features a single rear camera setup with 12-megapixel rear shooter and a 5-megapixel front camera.

The base model of Redmi Note 5 Pro with 4GB RAM is priced at Rs 13,999 while the 6GB RAM variant will retail for Rs 16,999. The phones will be available in black, gold, lake blue and rose gold colors.
