Xiaomi has announced sales numbers for its popular mid-range smartphones, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 and Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro. According to the company, the two smartphones that make up the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 series have sold five million units since launch in February this year. The mid-range series is therefore selling at over one million units per month, likely making it the best-selling smartphone series in India currently.
The Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 and Redmi Note 5 Pro are officially available to buy online through mi.com, Amazon India (only the Redmi Note 5), and Flipkart (only the Redmi Note 5 Pro), as well as offline through Mi Home stores and Xiaomi authorized retailers across the country. The more affordable Redmi Note 5 is priced from Rs 9,999 onwards, while the Redmi Note 5 Pro is available at Rs 14,999 onwards.
The pricing of the two phones puts them in one of the most popular smartphone categories in the country, which is a prime reason for the range’s success. The smartphone series has sold faster than its predecessor, which took six months to achieve the five million mark. It’s worth noting that there are two devices in the series this time around, with two variants of each, along with a wider price spread as well.
