Xiaomi has reportedly discontinued the Redmi Note 5 smartphone in India. The device has been removed from Xiaomi‘s official website, and the company is said to have stopped offline sales of the phone from past few weeks, reports 91mobiles.
The Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 smartphone was launched alongside Redmi Note 5 Pro, which has been one of the most popular Xiaomi products till date. With the launch of a new product Redmi 6 Pro, Xiaomi did try to re-capture the space, but it seems to have resulted in final good bye of Redmi Note 5. With the launch of Redmi Note 6 Pro, it was speculated that the Redmi Note 5 Pro will also get discontinued, but that didn’t happen. Xiaomi is still selling Redmi Note 5 Pro at Rs 12,999.
Xiaomi’s Redmi Note line-up of smartphones has been a huge success in India. The Redmi Note 5 was also launched in China as Redmi 5 Plus. With prices starting at Rs 9,999 for base variant and Rs 11,999 for the higher storage variant, the Redmi Note 5 brought only minor changes compared to its predecessor.

In terms of specifications, Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 included a Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 SoC, paired with 3GB/4GB of RAM, and 32GB/64GB of internal storage. The smartphone features a 5.99-inch FullHD+ display of 1080×2160 pixels resolution, and an 18:9 aspect ratio. It comes with a 12-megapixel primary camera, as well as a 5-megapixel front-facing shooter.
