After the record-breaking success of Redmi Note 4, rumors and leaks of the successor have already started pouring in. Rumors about the Redmi Note 5 suggest that the smartphone will come with an 18:9 full-screen display and a dual-camera setup. Now, a fresh set of leaks reveal some more details about the upcoming smartphones in Redmi-series. According to famous tipster Roland Quandt, Redmi 5-series will have three smartphones the Redmi 5, the Redmi 5A and Redmi 5 Plus. The new line-up pretty much remains similar to this year, except the ‘Plus’ variant. While there is no information on the Plus variant as yet, considering it is named ‘Plus’ we can expect either a bigger battery, bigger display, more storage, and RAM.
Apart from that the leak also reveals that the Redmi 5A (16GB) will come in Rose Gold, Gold, Black and Grey colors. The Redmi 5 16GB and 32GB variants are likely to will come in Gold and Black, whereas the Redmi 5 Plus will come Gold, Black, and Grey.
Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 specifications and features
As mentioned earlier, details about the Redmi Note 4 successor also leaked. According to Slashleaks, a leaked photo of what is believed to be the Redmi Note 5 is expected to ditch the usual design for an 18:9 aspect ratio display. The image shared shows the Redmi Note 5 with a large display and almost bezel-less display and no home button.
On the right-hand side, you can see the volume rocker and power button. While the image of the back panel is not shared, previous rumors reveal a vertically placed dual-camera setup can be seen. The dual-camera is likely to be accompanied by an LED flash, and a fingerprint sensor just below that. The smartphone is said to sport a pair of 16-megapixel and 5-megapixel sensors at the rear. Up front, the Redmi Note 5 is said to come with a 12-megapixel sensor.
The Redmi Note 5 is expected to come with a 5.5-inch full HD (1080p) display. Under the hood, it could be powered by a MediaTek Helio P25 octa-core SoC. In terms of pricing, the smartphone is expected to cost RMB 999 (Rs 9,800 approximately), whereas the bigger storage variant is expected to retail between RMB 1,299 and RMB 1,699 (Rs 12,800 Rs 16,700 approximately).
