Amidst much hype, Xiaomi introduced its Redmi Note 5 lineup today in India. The Redmi Note 5 and Redmi Note 5 Pro are the successors to the Redmi Note 4 which got Xiaomi the ‘number one smartphone brand’ title in India. The event’s highlight was the launch of the Mi TV 4, which is the company’s first TV in India. Here is an overview of all the details around pricing, availability, and launch day offers on the new products.
The Redmi lineup is known for its affordability, and the latest additions are no exclusions. The Redmi Note 5 comes in two variants. The 3GB RAM + 32GB internal storage model is priced at Rs 9,999, while the 4GB RAM + 64GB internal storage variant costs Rs 11,999.
Redmi Note 5 Pro is also available in two models. The 4GB RAM + 64GB storage is priced at Rs 13,999, while the 6GB RAM + 64GB storage version costs Rs 16,999. Mi TV 4, on the other hand, is priced at Rs 39,999.
The Xiaomi Redmi Note 5, Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro, and the Mi TV 4 will be available for their first sale on February 22 across mi.com, Mi Home, and Flipkart at 12:00PM. The products will eventually also make it to offline channels. However, there is no clarity as to when exactly these will be available for purchase at retail outlets.
Launch day offers
On the Redmi Note 5 and Redmi Note 5 Pro, Xiaomi’s partner Reliance Jio is offering Rs 2,200 cashback along with 100 percent additional 4G data. In addition to that, existing Flipkart offers are also applicable on the purchase of the smartphone. When purchased with Axis Bank Buzz Credit Card, Flipkart will offer an additional five percent discount. You can also get extra 10 percent off on the next purchase of select fashion products.
With the 55-inch Mi TV 4, Xiaomi is offering a bunch of accessories for free. The Mi IR cable, which costs Rs 299 will be provided for free. On-site installation of the smart TV, which costs Rs 1,099 will also be free. For the first three months, subscription to Sony Liv and Hungama Play will also be free for users.
