Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 to go on sale today via Flipkart and mi.com

After a bunch of successful sales, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 is going up for sale once again today. The sale will be held on Flipkart and mi.com, and will commence at 12:00PM IST. In addition to that, the Redmi Note 5 Pro will be available for pre order on mi.com and will be available for purchase starting April 13, 2018 at 12PM till April 17, 2018 till the stock last.

Both the Redmi Note 5 and Note 5 Pro come in two variants. The 3GB RAM variant of Redmi Note 5 is priced at Rs 9,999, whereas the 4GB RAM one retails at Rs 11,999. The Redmi Note 5 Pro on the other hand, has a 4GB RAM model, which is priced at Rs 13,999, and a 6GB RAM variant that comes for Rs 16,999. Both the smartphones are available in Black, Gold, Lake Blue and Rose Gold colors.

Additionally, when buying on Flipkart, if you choose an Axis Bank Buzz Credit Card for payment, you will be eligible for a 5 percent instant discount. The offer also stands if payments are made through EMI on Axis Bank Buzz Credit Cards. There are a handful of EMI plans on Flipkart, with those starting at Rs 679 per month.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 5, Redmi Note 5 Pro specifications and features

Coming to the specifications of the two smartphones, the Redmi Note 5 and Redmi Note 5 Pro share quite a few of those, with the difference essentially being in term of the processor and the camera. Both the smartphones share a 5.99-inch display with a Full HD+ resolution of 2160 x 1080 pixels. Both the phones run MIUI 9 based on Android Nougat and pack a beefy 4,000mAh battery.

However, under the hood, the Redmi Note 5 is powered by Snapdragon 625 SoC, whereas the Redmi Note 5 Pro gets a more powerful Snapdragon 636 chipset. In terms of optics, the Redmi Note 5 features a single rear camera setup with a 12-megapixel rear shooter and a 5-megapixel front camera.

The Redmi Note 5 Pro, on the other hand, features a dual camera setup on the rear with a primary 12-megapixel sensor and a secondary 5-megapixel sensor for capturing shallow depth of field. It also gets a much better 20-megapixel selfie camera with dedicated flash and support for face unlock feature.
