On its official account on Weibo, Xiaomi has put up a post saying, that something good is going to happen on August 21. Though the post doesn t reveal much, but the fact that it followed so closely to a TENAA listing of the purported smartphone, the reveal could easily about the Redmi Note 5A. Just yesterday, the Redmi Note 5A was spotted on China s certification website TENAA, and passing through the certification generally means that a smartphone is ready and approved to hit the market. The TENAA listing revealed the Redmi Note 5A to feature a 5.5-inch HD display with a resolution of 1280 720 pixels, powered by a 1.4GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 chipset under the hood. The listing also showed the Redmi Note 5A running on Android 7.1.1 Nougat out-of-the-box with MIUI 8 on top, which is surprising considering Xiaomi has already launched MIUI 9 last month, with the Mi 5X running it. TENAA listing also revealed a 13-megapixel rear camera, and a 5-megapixel selfie camera on the smartphone, and a 3,000mAh battery. It also mentions the listed smartphone being available in black, rose gold, gold, white, blue, red, pink, gray, and silver color variants.
Besides the TENAA listing, not long ago, some renders of the Redmi Note 5A had also surfaced, which revealed a handful about the design of the phone. According to those render the Redmi Note 5A will sport a metal unibody, a single rear camera with an LED flash at the back, power button and volume rocker on the right, and a micro USB port on the bottom. A 3.5 mm headphone jack sits on the top. From what this design revealed, the Redmi Note 5A will skip the fingerprint scanner. From what the rumors says, the Redmi Note 5 will come with a 5.5-inch HD display, a Snapdragon 630/660 chipset, with 32GB or 64GB internal storage variants, and 2GB/3GB/4GB RAM options. It is believed to feature a 16-megapixel sensor at the rear, and a 13-megapixel camera on the front.
