Xiaomi recently launched the Redmi Note 5A in China. The Redmi Note 5A comes in three variants with few differences under the hood. The highest variant of the Redmi Note 5A with 4GB RAM, 64GB storage, and Snapdragon 435 SoC is now available for purchase in China. The smartphone is priced at RMB 1,199, which translates to approximately Rs 11,800. At the time of its launch, only the base and mid variants went on sale.
The base variant of the Redmi Note 5A comes with 2GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage, and runs Snapdragon 425 SoC under its hood. This variant is priced at RMB 699 (approximately Rs 6,900). The mid variant is available with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage, Snapdragon 435 SoC, and is priced at RMB 899 (approximately Rs 8,800). In comparison with the base variant of the Redmi Note 5A, the higher end versions are fueled by a 3,080mAh battery, and houses a rear fingerprint sensor. On the other hand, the 2GB RAM + 16GB storage variant packs a slightly smaller 3,000mAh battery, and lacks a fingerprint sensor. Rest of the specifications remain the same on all the three variants.
To recall, the Redmi Note 5A features a 5.5-inch HD display with a 2.5D glass on top. The internal storage on all three models can be expanded up to 128GB via a microSD card. In the photography department, the Redmi Note 5A sports a 13-megapixel rear camera of f/2.2 aperture, PDAF, HDR, and real-time filter mode. The connectivity options available on the Redmi Note 5A include dual-SIM support, three card slots for two nano SIM cards and microSD card, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth 4.2. On the software front, the smartphone runs an unspecified Android with MIUI 9 on top. The smartphone is available in three color options of Champagne Gold, Rose Gold, and Platinum Silver Gray.
