Xiaomi’s resounding success in the Indian mobile sector has been primarily been built on the company’s affordable and feature-packed smartphones, notably the Redmi series. Launched earlier this year, the Redmi Note 5 Pro has been (and still is) one of the best-selling smartphones in the sub-20K segment. Not wanting to lose that momentum, Xiaomi has decided to bring its successor to the market.

The Chinese technology major has started sending media invites for an event, scheduled for November 22 in New Delhi. The invite shows Xiaomi’s ‘Mi Bunny’ mascot from the back, standing on a smartphone’s top and pointing to a cosmic whirlpool-like illustration, with the number ‘6’ clearly visible in the center. This, combined with the words ‘The New Note Rises’ and the notched top panel (on which the mascot is seen standing), are all the hints you need to deduce that the star of the show is going to be Xiaomi Redmi Note 6 Pro.

Obviously, there’s no information available regarding the soon-to-be-launched price as of now, but we’re assuming it’ll be priced in the same range as its predecessor, Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro.

All said, the Redmi Note 6 Pro is not exactly an unknown device. The smartphone has already been available in other markets, including Xiaomi’s home country of China.

In terms of specifications, the Redmi Note 6 Pro isn’t exactly that different from the Redmi Note 5 Pro. It’s powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 SoC, comes with a dual-camera system (12-megapixel and 5-megapixel) at the back, and even has a 4000mAh battery. However, the smartphone does come with a slightly bigger 6.26-inch display, which also happens to have a notch.
