Xiaomi Redmi Note 6 Pro, the newest mid-range smartphone from the Chinese smartphone maker, went on its first sale today at 12:00PM IST. The company confirmed that it sold 600,000 units of Redmi Note 6 Pro during the first sale and announced that it will hold second sale at 3:00PM.
Now, Manu Kumar Jain, Managing Director at Xiaomi India, has confirmed that the second sale also saw the device going out of stock within minutes. As a result, Xiaomi Redmi Note 6 Pro will be available for purchase two more times during the day. The next ‘Black Friday’ sale will be held at 6:00PM and 9:00PM respectively. This is the first time Xiaomi is selling its smartphone just a day after its official launch in the country.
However, multiple sales during the same day suggests Xiaomi is onto making Redmi Note 6 Pro the best-seller in the country. The strong demand for the smartphone can be owed to improved specifications and discounted price during the first sale. According to latest IDC numbers, Xiaomi remains the market leader for the fifth consecutive quarter.
Xiaomi Redmi Note 6 Pro: Price and Offers
The Redmi Note 6 Pro comes in two variants: 4GB or 6GB of RAM and 64GB standard storage. Those buying the device using HDFC Bank credit or debit card will also be able to avail Rs 500 cashback on the smartphone. This effectively brings the cost of Redmi Note 6 Pro down to Rs 12,499 for the 4GB RAM variant and Rs 14,499 for the 6GB RAM variant. Xiaomi Redmi Note 6 Pro: Specifications and Features
To recall, the Redmi Note 6 Pro features a 6.26-inch Full HD+ display with a notch, and is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 SoC. The smartphone comes with dual rear camera setup of 12-megapixel and 5-megapixel sensors. Xiaomi has updated the primary sensor with wider f/1.9 aperture, dual-pixel autofocus and larger pixels.
At the front, there is dual camera setup of 20-megapixel and 2-megapixel image sensors. This allows for improved depth mapping and effects like light trails. The smartphone runs MIUI 10 based on Android Oreo, and is backed by 4,000mAh battery.
The success of Redmi Note 6 Pro during its very first sale can be due to its pricing. The smartphone, which arrives as the successor to Redmi Note 5 Pro, is priced same as its predecessor. Despite the launch of Redmi Note 6 Pro, the Redmi Note 5 Pro is being offered for Rs 13,999 in the country. It is obvious that Redmi Note 6 Pro is a much better device than its predecessor and at discounted price, it beats rivals like the Zenfone Max Pro M1, Realme 2 Pro and Motorola One Power.
