It’s been just eight months since Xiaomi launched the Redmi Note 5 Pro in India. However, the hugely-popular smartphone, which is a leader in the mid-range segment, is getting a successor already. At an even in New Delhi today, Xiaomi unveiled the Redmi Note 6 Pro in the country.
The Redmi Note 6 Pro is an incremental upgrade over its predecessor. Since it launched in other markets a few months back, we already knew the kind of specifications and features it would come with. On the spec sheet, there is very little that differentiates the Redmi Note 6 Pro from the Redmi Note 5 Pro. The two big differentiators though include a notch at the top of the display, and dual-selfie cameras at the front.
The Redmi Note 6 Pro features a 6.26-inch FHD+ display, Snapdragon 636 SoC, 4GB/6GB of RAM, and up to 64GB storage. Other features include a dual-camera setup (12-megapixel+5-megapixel) at the back, and a dual-camera setup (20-megapixel+2-megapixel) at the front. The device is backed by a 4,000mAh battery (with Quick Charge 3.0 support), and runs Android Oreo with MIUI 10 overlay.
The base variant (4GB RAM) of Xiaomi Redmi Note 6 Pro is priced at Rs 13,999, whereas the higher-end (6GB RAM) model costs Rs 15,999. The smartphone will go on sale at 12PM tomorrow, on Flipkart, Mi India, as well as via Mi Home stores. As part of the initial offer, both configurations will be available at a discount of Rs 1,000 each. Xiaomi is also throwing in cashback of Rs 2,400 and up to 6TB 4G data, courtesy of Reliance Jio. HDFC Bank credit/debit card holders will get an additional discount of Rs 500 off the smartphone’s price.
