From the looks of it, it seems that Xiaomi is sticking with the SoC used in the previous Redmi Note 5 Pro, which is Snapdragon 636. It was previously thought that the new Redmi Note 6 Pro will be sporting a Snapdragon 660. The other things that have been confirmed from the listing is the presence of 4GB RAM on the phone, and Android 8.1 Oreo operating system. In terms of the benchmarking scores, the upcoming Xiaomi Redmi Note 6 Pro scores 1,332 in single-core tests, and 4,675 in multi-core tests. And these scores are not too different from its predecessor, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro, which seems unexpected since this is a yearly upgrade over the previous version.
Xiaomi Redmi Note 6 Pro specifications
The listing reveals that the Redmi Note 6 Pro will be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 SoC same as the one found on existing Redmi Note 5 Pro. Recently, a variant of the device was spotted on China’s AliExpress featuring 3GB RAM, 32GB storage, and support for microSD expansion slot.
The Redmi Note 6 Pro features a 6.26-inch display with a notch and the specification sheet wrongly claims the resolution to be 2160×1080 pixels. The smartphone with notched display is expected to support a resolution of 2280×1080 pixels, and aspect ratio of 19:9.
The listing also confirms that the Redmi Note 6 Pro will come with four cameras, two on the front and two on the rear. At the front, it will use a combination of 20-megapixel and 2-megapixel camera setup while the rear camera setup will use the same 12-megapixel and 5-megapixel combination also found on existing model.

The Redmi Note 6 Pro runs Android Oreo with MIUI 9 on top, and it packs a 4,000mAh battery. The disappointment is that it sticks with microUSB port for charging, which seems outdated by industry standard. In terms of price, the Redmi Note 6 Pro is listed with a retail price of around $200 (approximately Rs 14,500). The smartphone will be available in black, blue, rose gold, and red color.
