Xiaomi Redmi Note went on sale today for the first time on Flipkart, and was out of stock in 6 seconds. This marks the return of the ‘out-of-stock-in-seconds’ tradition, that was absent in the last few Redmi 1S flash sales. Almost 50,000 units were up for grabs and up to 350,000 users were registered for the sale. Most of the Flipkart First customers failed to receive their device yesterday. Just minutes before the sale at 2:00PM, some still complained of the device not yet been added to their cart. However, some confirmed that they finally got a Redmi Note in their cart and managed to successfully make the purchase. It remains to be seen whether they get the device now or not.
To recap on the specifications, the Redmi Note flaunts a 5.5-inch HD (1280 720 pixels) IPS display with a pixel density of 267ppi, and Gorilla Glass 3 protection. It is powered by a 1.7GHz Mediatek MT6592 octa-core processor paired with 2GB of RAM.
The phablet features a 13-megapixel rear camera, a 5-megapixel front-facing camera, 8GB internal storage and 3,100mAh battery. Connectivity options include dual-SIM card slots, 3G support, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and on the software front it runs on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean wrapped under MIUI version 5.
