Looking at the leaked photos, one camera would be used to capture photos whereas the other would capture depth information. This would let users add a level of blur to their photos, similar to what one can do with DSLR cameras. The leaked photos look good, but as the resolution has been scaled down, details about the camera resolution still remain a mystery. A similar feature was first introduced with HTC’s One M8, which came with dual camera setup at the back. Lenovo had also introduced a similar camera setup on its Vibe S1, for capturing selfies. A handful of other smartphones also come with dual camera setup, such as the LG G5, where other camera is used for capturing wide-angle photos. Now, while the Redmi Pro seem to offer the ability to capture photos and add bokeh effects later, details about other features of the dual camera are scarce at the moment.

Xiaomi Redmi Pro specifications

From what we know so far, the Redmi Pro is likely to feature an OLED display. However, there is no word on its display size and resolution. The recent Geekbench listing of the alleged Redmi Pro revealed MediaTek Helio X25 deca-core processor paired with 4GB of RAM. Rumors also claim that one more variant with 3GB of RAM could also be expected.

Xiaomi Redmi Pro features

The smartphone is expected to pack a metal unibody design and as leaked photos didn’t reveal fingerprint scanner at the back, the same is expected to be embedded within the physical home button on the front.

On the connectivity front, 4G LTE with VoLTE support, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth and GPS could be expected. The smartphone is expected to run MIUI 8 based on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow out of the box.

The Xiaomi Redmi Pro is scheduled to launch on July 27 in Beijing.
