Xiaomi recently launched the affordable Redmi S2 smartphone in China, and looks like the company is all geared up to bring it to the Indian shores. Xiaomi India tweeted about a smartphone launch for June 7 in New Delhi, and it is expected to be the Redmi S2. The smartphone features a 16-megapixel AI front camera, with an LED flash, and Xiaomi claims it is capable of capturing the best selfies in its price range.

Oppo is all set to introduce the Realme 1 smartphone under its online-only brand Realme. Taking a dig at Oppo, Xiaomi teaser reads “The #RealYou smartphone is coming.” Xiaomi India tweeted about the launch, with a caption that reads, “Every step in your life is defined by a selfie. Find yourself, #FindYourSelfie The BEST selfie smartphone is arriving soon. The BEST selfie smartphone is arriving soon.”

We know that Xiaomi is expected to launch smartphone in India, and with the teaser talking about best selfies, it clearly hints that the device is none other than the Redmi S2. However, the Redmi Y1 was launched last year as a selfie-centric device, and there are chances wherein Xiaomi may launched the Redmi S2 as Redmi Y2.
