Xiaomi Redmi Y1 Lite, the entry-level smartphone from the Chinese smartphone maker, is set to go on sale today. The smartphone will be available as part of Xiaomi’s Republic Day Sale being held from January 24 to January 26. The Redmi Y1 Lite sale starts at 12:00PM via company’s website, Mi Store app, and Amazon India. The Redmi Y1 Lite is part of the new selfie-centric series, and is priced at Rs 6,999. With the purchase of Redmi Y1 Lite, Idea Cellular is offering up to 280GB additional data for free to its prepaid customers. The smartphone also comes with free three-month subscription to Hungama Music and Xiaomi is offering option to secure the device against accidental and liquid damages with Mi Protect for Rs 499.

Xiaomi Redmi Y1 Lite is an affordable smartphone with 5.5-inch 720p HD display, and is powered by Qualcomm’s quad-core Snapdragon 425 chipset. The smartphone is available in only one storage variant with 2GB RAM and 16GB internal storage. It also supports expandable storage up to 128GB via dedicated SD card slot.
In terms of camera, the Redmi Y1 Lite comes with a 13-megapixel rear camera with f/2.2 aperture, phase detection autofocus, HDR mode and LED flash. It features a 5-megapixel selfie camera with f/2.0 aperture and 36 beauty profiles.
Xiaomi Redmi Y1 also includes connectivity options like dual-SIM support, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS and 4G with VoLTE support. The Redmi Y1 Lite lacks a fingerprint sensor and runs MIUI 9 based on Android 7.0 Nougat. The smartphone packs a 3,080mAh battery and is available in gold and gray colors.
