Xiaomi launched the selfie-centric Redmi Y2 in India back in June. At the time of launch, the device was available in gold, Dark Grey, and Rose Gold colors. Now, the company has announced two new color variants, which will be going on sale for the first time today.
Xiaomi took to Twitter to announce the ‘Mesmerising Blue’ and ‘Stunning Black’ colors for the Redmi Y2. Both these color variants will be available later today at 12:00PM via mi.com, and Amazon India.
Apart from the new paint job, the pricing, specifications, and features all remain the same. So essentially, you will be able to the buy the Redmi Y2 for Rs 9,999 (32GB+3GB variant) or Rs 12,999 (64GB+4GB variant).

To quickly recap on the Redmi Y2’s specifications, and features, it comes with a 5.99-inch HD+ (1440×720 pixels) display with 18:9 aspect ratio. Under the hood is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 SoC paired with Adreno 506 GPU.
For photography, the device is equipped with a dual-camera setup at the back that includes a 12-megapixel primary sensor, and a 5-megapixel secondary sensor. The cameras are backed by AI capabilities. The smartphone’s highlight is its 16-megapixel Super Pixel selfie camera. This camera comes with AI Beauty 4.0, Face Unlock, and is accompanied by a LED flash.

There is also a fingerprint sensor at the back for security, and connectivity options include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS, IR Blaster, and 3.5mm audio jack. On the software front, the dual-SIM smartphone runs Android 8.1 Oreo-based MIUI 9.5.
