The Redmi Note 5 Pro is now available via open sale on Flipkart. The base variant with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage is priced at Rs 14,999, whereas the top-end variant with 6GB RAM and 64GB storage is available for Rs 16,999. The Redmi Y2, on the other hand, will go on sale via Amazon India at 12:00PM today. The base variant with 3GB RAM and 32GB storage is priced at Rs 9,999, whereas the variant with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage is priced at Rs 12,999. Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro Specifications
Xiaomi has equipped the smartphone with a 5.99-inch Full HD+ display offering a resolution of 2160 x 1080 pixels and a taller 18:9 aspect ratio. It is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 chipset coupled with 4GB or 6GB of RAM and 64GB standard storage. For shutterbugs, there is a dual rear camera setup comprising of a 12-megapixel and 5-megapixel image sensors. There is a 20-megapixel selfie camera with dedicated LED flash and support for face unlock.
The Redmi Note 5 Pro is currently running MIUI 9 based on Android Nougat but the company has started rollout of new version based on Android Oreo in a staged manner. It is backed by a 4,000mAh battery and has a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor.
Xiaomi Redmi Y2 specifications and features
Just like the Redmi Note 5 Pro, the Redmi Y2 also sports a 5.99-inch display, but with HD+ resolution of 1440 x 720pixels and 18:9 aspect ratio. The smartphone is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 SoC, similar to one found on Redmi Note 5 and Redmi Note 4. It can be purchased in 3GB or 4GB of RAM and 32GB or 64GB internal storage variants.
Xiaomi has also stacked the smartphone with a rear dual-camera setup featuring 12-megapixel and 5-megapixel sensors. The connectivity options include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, microUSB port and 4G LTE.
In the software department, the Redmi Y2 runs MIUI 9.5 based on Android 8.1 Oreo and will be updated to MIUI 10 with new gesture support later this year. To keep things ticking, there is a 3,080mAh battery.
