Xiaomi is gearing up to launch its upcoming smartphone, the Xiaomi Redmi Y2 on June 7 in the Indian market. The company posted a new teaser video on its official Redmi India account to generate hype for the upcoming device. Amazon also posted a teaser banner for the device reveals that the device will be launched as an Amazon exclusive. The landing page for the device on Amazon India website hinted at a dual camera setup while engaging in an implied banter with its competition, the recently launched Realme 1.
The landing page contains four images with each image focusing on one feature of the upcoming device. As mentioned previously, the first image hinted at a dual camera setup. The second teaser image on the page stated “You are beautiful. So should your selfie” implying that the device will focus on selfies. The third image pointed out that the smartphone will sport a Snapdragon processor.

The device will be a follow up to the Redmi Y1 that the company launched last year. The final image on the page hinted at a fingerprint scanner with “Fingerprints are unique. So are YOU.”

The company is expected to come with a 5.99-inch HD+ display with an aspect ratio of 18:9. The teased dual-rear camera setup will consist of a 12-megapixel and 5-megapixel sensors. The teaser video posted on Twitter confirmed that the device will come with a 16-megapixel sensor.
Redmi Y2 is expected to sport a Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 SoC with 3GB of RAM, and 32GB of storage. However, a 4GB RAM and 64GB storage variant is also expected. As previously reported, the phone is expected to run Android 8.1 Oreo-based MIUI out of the box.
