Xiaomi Mi A1 users will be happy to know that a stable Android Pie update for their devices is now rolling out. Xiaomi had recently released a beta version of the update a few days ago and brings a few new features according to a report by AndroGuider. The beta update was only made available in a closed beta which meant that only certain users were able to access it. However, a zip file was available for download on XDA forums, made by a user. The tradition of beta tests being held for only a couple of days is not new for the Mi A1.

The biggest addition according to the update log appears to be the addition of FM Radio with the Android Pie update. The FM Radio feature was not added to the Mi A1 smartphone with the Nougat and Oreo updates even though the hardware ability was present on the smartphone.

The report mentions that the update weighs in at around 1074MB which means it is wise to download it over WiFi so as not to run out of cellular data. A GizmoChina report adds that the new update also adds adaptive battery and adaptive brightness, a new navigation system, digital well-being and a new volume control menu. The update is apparently rolling out now in Bangladesh.

In terms of specifications, the Mi A1 features a 5.5-inch Full-HD display, Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 SoC, 4GB RAM and 64GB storage. It also features a dual 12-megapixel rear camera setup with 2x optical zoom, and a 5-megapixel selfie camera. It is backed by a 3,080mAh battery and was launched at Rs 14,999. Since its debut, Xiaomi has announced a permanent price cut of Rs 1,000 to sell the Mi A1 for Rs 13,999.

A recent report mentioned that Xiaomi may be planning to discontinue the Mi A1 smartphone, but the company clarified that it was not discontinued. The successor to Mi A1, called Mi A2, is also now available in India.
