Pan Jiutang, a known Chinese analyst, has revealed that Xiaomi is planning on soon launching the Windows 10 tablet. He mentions a third quarter launch time frame, which unfortunately could be anytime from now to September. Jiutang also fails to mention if the tablet will run on Windows 10 edition or Windows 10 mobile edition. Details about the tablet itself are practically non-existent at the moment. Currently Xiaomi only has the Mi Pad in its tablet lineup, which was launched last year. It went on sale in India earlier this year, priced at Rs 12,999.
This 7.9-inch tablet features a 2.2GHz Nvidia Tegra K1 processor with 192-core Kepler GPU, 2GB of RAM, 16GB internal storage, microSD card slot, 8-megapixel rear camera, 5-megapixel front-facing camera, and a non-removable 6,700mAh battery. On the software front, the tablet runs on MIUI 6.
The timing of this revelation is interesting since Xiaomi is hosting an event on August 16, where it is expected to unveil MIUI 7. Since the Android-based UI will be under the spotlight, it is hard to say to if the Chinese company will want to also talk about Windows.
