Xiaomi could be working on its first Redmi smartphone with a full view display and 18:9 aspect ratio. Xiaomi currently has an edge-to-edge display on its Mi MIX and Mi MIX 2. According to a new TENAA listing of a Xiaomi samrtphone, the design shows a large display with very thin bezels on all sides. It is speculated that this smartphone could be the Redmi Note 5. Past leaks have speculated that the Redmi Note 5 will come with a similar display design.
Speaking about the design of this Xiaomi smartphone, the usual capacitive buttons aren’t visible on the front panel. The rear panel is what gives away the Redmi smartphone suspicion. Two antenna lines can be seen passing through the top and bottom with the rear camera lens placed at the centre. The circular fingerprint sensor is also visible with the Mi logo placed at the lower end. The metal body also has rounded edges as seen in other Redmi smartphones. The TENAA listing however doesn’t provide specifications on this Xiaomi smartphone.
With its specifications it could indeed be the Redmi Note 5, and past leaks do correlate with this image. The Redmi Note 5 has been rumored to feature a 5.5-inch full HD display with 18:9 aspect ratio. It is also expected to be powered by the 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 octa-core processor which supports up to FHD+ (18:9) screen resolutions. The smartphone could come with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. RELATED: Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 may be the first to be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 636 SoC: Report
